Blanche, Sadie's daughter from her first marriage, was at school and was recorded as 7 years old, although she was actually about age 12, and Marie, the couple's daughter, was 5 years old.14 
Census US 1910*22 April 1910Sadie J. and Thomas C. Livingston were enumerated on the 1910 census taken on 22 April 1910 on the north side of 17th Street, Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. Thomas was 41 years of age and worked for wages as a Locomotive Engineer, and Sadie was 39 years of age. They rented their house, had been married for 20 years, the second marriage for Sadie and the first marriage for Thomas. Sadie had given birth to two children, both of whom were living. The couple's daughter, Marie K., who was 15 years old and had attended school within the census year, was enumerated with her parents in 1910.15 
Census US 1920*8 January 1920Sadie and Thomas C. Livingston were enumerated on the 1920 census taken on 8 January 1920 at 15 East Eighteenth Street, Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Thomas was 54 years of age, and Sadie was age 51. They rented their house, Tom's occupation was "none", his year of immigration was 1890, and his year of naturalization was 1893. Enumerated with the couple in 1920 was their niece, Margaret Woods, who was 15 years old and had attended school within the census year. She was the daughter of Sadie's deceased brother, Thomas, and her occupation was recorded as "Scholar."16 
Census US 1930*12 April 1930Sadie and Thomas C. Livingston were enumerated on the 1930 census taken on 12 April 1930 at 1630 Swain Street, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Thomas was recorded as 57 years of age and worked for wages as an Engineer for the Steam Railroad, and Sadie was recorded as 54 years of age. Thomas had been 21 years of age when they married, and Sadie was incorrectly recorded as having been 28 years of age when she married for the first time. She had likely been only 17 or 18 years old at her first marriage and was 21 years of age when she married Thomas. They owned their house which was valued at $3,700, and they also owned a radio set. Their daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Harry Friel, with their two children, were enumerated with the Livingstons in 1930. Harry was 39 years of age, had been age 25 when they married, and worked for wages as an Office Clerk for the Steam Railroad. Marie was 30 years of age, had been age 16 when they married, and worked for wages as a Waitress in a Restaurant. Their son, Cail F. Friel, was 15 years old, had attended school within the census year, and worked for wages as an Armature Winder at an Electrical Appliance Company, and their daughter, Blanche E. Friel, was 11 years old, and had attended school within the census year. Also enumerated in the Livingston household in 1930 was their niece, Margaret Woods, who was 25 years of age and worked for wages as a Bookkeeper for a Building Contractor.17

Injury*18 October 1904Thomas was badly injured on Tuesday afternoon, 18 October 1904, when he was hit by the south bound train between New Maysville and Hawthorn, Pennsylvania. The newspaper reporting the accident expressed wonder that he was not killed. He worked as a boiler maker and was traveling to Verona on a pass which was punched at Falls Creek. How he got off the train was not known. He was not a drinking man, but was known to be a somnambulist or sleep walker. It was thought that he might have left the train while sleeping and sat down on the ties, where he was hit. He was taken to the Odell Hotel in New Bethlehem, where his wounds were dressed. He was expected to recover after a short time, minus two fingers.3,4 
Death*9 June 1906He died on 9 June 1906 at age 38. The sad story surrounding his death was published in The Pennsylvania Grit, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, 17 June 1906, on page 17, and was transcribed and included on the Find a Grave Memorial page for his wife, Frances (Mosemiller) Woods. We are very grateful to the people who shared the information.

From St. Marys: "Last Saturday the body of a man was found in the Clarina River in Mill Haven, three miles above Ridgway by an Italian laborer. The body was found lodged on a rock with head and feet in the water. The man was thought to have been dead a week owing to the decomposed state of the body. Nothing was found which would lead to his identification except that two fingers were off of the left hand and a key and chain found on his person. His hat and coat which contained a pass book were missing. As the body could not be identified, it was buried by the county authorities at Ridgway. From the description given of the man found, it was thought to be that of Thomas J. Woods, of St. Marys, and upon investigating it was found that the key and chain found on his person was his property. This morning the remains were dug up, and the body was identified by relatives. Mr. Woods had left St. Marys on May 19, nearly four weeks ago, and for the past two weeks his whereabouts were not known. He was aged 38 years, and is survived by a widow and four small children, who reside here. He was a boiler maker by trade and was employed as a boiler maker at the P. S. & M. R.R. shops. The remains were brought to St. Marys Saturday afternoon at 3:30 and interred in the Catholic cemetery."2,3
