(Son) Will18 February 1893Arthur's father, Sylvester Rhoads of Hatfield, Montgomery County, prepared his will dated 18 February 1893 in which he named his wife, Elizabeth, and mentioned children, although did not name any. We've learned from our research that Sylvester prepared his will about eleven months after the birth of the couple's first child, Flossie, and that their second child, Arthur, was born ten months before Sylvester's death. Below is our transcript of his will as Sylvester prepared it:

In the name of God, Amen. I Sylvester Rhoads of Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, state of Pennsylvania, farmer, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void a former will which is in the hands of Oliver G. Morris of Line Lexington, County and State aforesaid, and all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.

Item. After my death I give and bequeath annually to the Seaton of the Montgomery Baptist Church of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, $10 to be used for the purpose of keeping my father Samuel Rhoads’s and my own burial lots in proper condition.

Item. The income of the balance of my real and personal estate, whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be and not hereinbefore given and disposed of, after paying my debts and funeral expenses, I give said income to my wife Elizabeth during her lifetime, and after the death of my wife, the said estate to be divided equally between my children.

And I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Elizabeth and H. C. Harrar as Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I, Sylvester Rhoads, the testator, to this my will written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal.

(Daughter) Will18 February 1893Flossie's father, Sylvester Rhoads of Hatfield, Montgomery County, prepared his will dated 18 February 1893 in which he named his wife, Elizabeth, and mentioned children, although did not name any. We've learned from our research that Sylvester prepared his will about eleven months after the birth of the couple's first child, Flossie, and that their second child, Arthur, was born ten months before Sylvester's death. Below is our transcript of his will as Sylvester prepared it:

In the name of God, Amen. I Sylvester Rhoads of Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, state of Pennsylvania, farmer, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void a former will which is in the hands of Oliver G. Morris of Line Lexington, County and State aforesaid, and all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.

Item. After my death I give and bequeath annually to the Seaton of the Montgomery Baptist Church of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, $10 to be used for the purpose of keeping my father Samuel Rhoads’s and my own burial lots in proper condition.

Item. The income of the balance of my real and personal estate, whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be and not hereinbefore given and disposed of, after paying my debts and funeral expenses, I give said income to my wife Elizabeth during her lifetime, and after the death of my wife, the said estate to be divided equally between my children.

And I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Elizabeth and H. C. Harrar as Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I, Sylvester Rhoads, the testator, to this my will written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal.

(Daughter) Census US 19106 May 1910Flossie was enumerated on the 1910 census taken on 6 May 1910 in the household of her mother and stepfather, Allen W. Hunsberger, in Hatfield, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Flossie was 18 years old and worked for wages as a home servant.9 
(Daughter) Census US 192028 January 1920Flossie was enumerated on the 1920 census taken on 27 and 28 January 1920 in the household of her mother, who had been widowed a second time, at 127 West Sixth Street, Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Flossie was single, 27 years of age and worked as a telephone operator.3 
(Daughter) Census US 193022 April 1930Flossie was again enumerated in her mother's household on the 1930 census taken on 22 April 1930 at Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was still single, had aged the ten years between censuses and was 37 in 1930, and still worked as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Company.2 
Census US 1940*15 April 1940Mother and daughter, Elizabeth Hunsberger and Flossie Rhoads, were enumerated together again on the 1940 census taken on 15 April 1940 at Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth was 80 years of age and her house was valued at $2,800 in 1940, and Flossie was 48 years of age and continued to work as a telephone operator.1
