He rented his house, and his parents and siblings were enumerated in the fourth household below George's on the same census page.4,2

Census US 1910*April 1910Minnie and William S. Sturges were enumerated on the 1910 census taken in April 1910 in Township 3, Delaware County, Oklahoma. William was 51 years of age, and a farmer working on his own account, and Minnie was 44 years of age. While Minnie was able to both read and write, William was able to read only. They owned their farm free of mortgage, had been married for 27 years and Minnie had given birth to twelve children, nine of whom were living. Seven of their children were enumerated with them in 1910. James A., William and Milt were recorded as ages 23, 18 and 16 years, respectively, were all able to read and write and worked as laborers on the family farm, and Milt had attended school within the census year; Ella and Mary were ages 13 and 11 years, respectively, were able to read and write, and had attended school within the census year; and the two youngest, Marion and Julian, were ages 8 and 3 years old, respectively. Also residing with the family was the couple's nephew, Vird Sturges, who was single, 28 years of age and worked outside the family as a farm laborer. The couple's second son, George L., was enumerated as the only occupant and head of his own household which was listed four households above his parents' on the same census page, and their married daughter, Nannie E.
