Frank was 34 years of age and a blacksmith working on his own account, and Martha was recorded as 37 years of age. She had immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1884 and had lived in the United States for 16 years. They had been married for 12 years and Martha had not given birth to any children. They owned their house with a mortgage, and were both able to read, write and to speak English.8 
(Son-in-Law) Death18 March 1901Frank's father-in-law, John Palmer, died on 18 March 1901 at the Wilson home in Lake View, Sac County, Iowa. Frank's wife's parents had been living with Frank and his wife, Martha, since moving from Canada to Lake View the previous fall.9,10,11 
Census US 1910*30 April 1910Martha and Frank Z. Wilson were enumerated on the 1910 census taken on 30 April 1910 at 210 2nd Avenue N.E., Aberdeen, Brown County, South Dakota. Frank was 45 years of age and worked for wages as an engineer for the railroad, and Martha was also 45 years of age. They had been married for 22 years, the first marriage for each, they owned their house free of mortgage, and Martha had not given birth to any children. Two roomers were enumerated in their household in 1910. Both were men, single, and 22 years of age. One worked for wages as a lunch counter waiter, and the other was employed for wages as a teacher in a public school. Everyone in the Wilson household spoke English and was able to read and write.12 
Divorce*between 1920 and 1930Frank and Martha were divorced between 1920 and 1930. They were together as married on the 1920 census and, on the 1930 census, Martha was recorded as a widow. On Frank's death certificate in 1943, he was reported by his sister, Cora (Wilson) Stokes, to have been divorced.13,14

Census US 1900*6 June 1900Jennie H. and E. Howard Newlin were enumerated on the 1900 census taken on 6 June 1900 at 86 Waite Street, Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Howard was 23 years of age and worked as a pattern maker, and Jennie was 22 years of age. They rented their house, had been married for one year and Jennie had given birth to no children. Jennie's older brother and his wife, Elsie A. and Ernest W. Wilson, and her younger brother, Frank H. Wilson, were enumerated with the Newlins in 1900. Ernest was 26 years of age and worked as a conductor for a street railroad, and his wife Elsie was age 20. They had been married for one month and we also note that Elsie was enumerated a second time in 1900. Two weeks later, on 19 June 1900, she was enumerated with her mother in Greensboro, North Carolina as Elsie A. Wood and single, so we don't know where she actually was on those two different enumeration dates. Jennie's brother, Frank Wilson, was 18 years old. Everyone in the Newlin household was able to read, write and to speak English.9

Marriage*Based upon a letter she wrote to her son Isaac Sharp in 1776, he may have married, as her second husband, Mary (__?__) Sharp.1,2 
(2nd Husband-Possible) Research Notes The 1776 letter to Isaac from his mother is of special interest to us. The Wolverton source stated that his mother had signed her name to the letter as Mrs. Mary Wilson, indicating that her husband, Isaac's father was deceased and that she had married again. However, the same source, on the same subject, referred to Isaac's mother as Mary (Wolverton) Sharp, who was actually his wife. The Washington County source included a transcription of Isaac's mother's 1776 letter to him. The transcription, however, did not include a reference to how she signed her name. Of interest, though, is the fact that she wrote in her letter, "We are talking of going to South Carolina again next spring. John's son John, who lives there was here, but I hardly think we will go." Her words have made us think that her second husband may have been a John Wilson, who had a son, John, who lived in South Carolina in 1776.2,1
