Birr, Kings County
Between 1620 and 1899 what is now the town of Birr, County Offaly, Ireland was called Parsonstown, after the Parsons family who were local landowners. Parsonstown was in Kings County, which was renamed County Offaly in 1920 and became part of the Republic of Ireland on its formation in 1921
